Mert Oral ’22: U of M Varsity Men’s Tennis Player Reflects on Time at Greenhills
Before Mert Oral ’22 became part of the University of Michigan Varsity Men’s tennis team, he won four tennis state championships at Greenhills School. He finished his high school career with a 125-9 record, was one of only nine players in Michigan history to win three No. 1 singles titles, and was named Michigan’s Mr. Tennis his senior year. Oral was also just as successful academically, graduating at the top of his class and participating in Model UN, DECA, the Muslim Students Association, and served as a peer-to-peer math tutor. He even founded his own fitness and lifestyle brand called Fitness with Mert. Here, Oral reflects back on his time at Greenhills, how it prepared him for college athletics and academics, and the impact it has had on his life.
