They will meet again in June on the U-M campus, where a big focus will be on developing a research component to the course. Throughout the year data will be collected and analyzed to…

Varsity Girls Basketball Heading Into Break With High Morale Despite Loss

By Nathan Burke, Associate Editor for The Alcove student newspaper Following the loss to powerhouse Bishop Foley Catholic on December 9, the sentiment of Greenhills’ girls varsity basketball team was not one of disappointment, but instead one of pride and excitement for what is to come. The team is off to a strong start this season, despite facing a number of challenges. After being down by a significant margin at halftime in their recent game against Bishop Foley, the team was able to rally for a scoring streak thanks in large part to the efforts of one of their key…

…things that’s been most helpful to me in my career — that’s helped me stand out in the realm of food writing — is that people tend to feel like I’m fair and that I approach it with integrity,” she said. “And those are things I definitely associate with Greenhills.” Fairness, integrity, and hard work were part of Raskin’s Greenhills experience from the start. One of the activities on which she spent the most time was Global Citizenship, an offshoot of a University of Michigan Community Service program. Gajar named Coach of the Year. Twice.

Greenhills varsity tennis coach Eric Gajar—also the school’s associate director of admission—picked up a pair of honors at the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association last week: Coach of the Year, and, well, Coach of the Year. A word of explanation. First, Gajar was voted Division IV Boys Coach of the Year by the tennis coaches association. At the root of that honor are the eight consecutive championships Gajar’s teams have racked up. But that wasn’t the end of the story. The Michigan High School Coaches Association then selected Gajar from among the other three tennis division coaching winners and…

U-M aerospace scientist Gallimore visits 6th grade classes

Sixth graders were paid a visit today by U-M Professor Alec Gallimore, associate dean for research and graduate education in the College of Engineering. It was also nice for the kids to have the opportunity to interact with a real scientist. It…
