A Sneak Peek at Poetry Week

Middle school students will mine the words we see as we move through the classrooms and hallways of Greenhills to create poems of their own. Boys’ Soccer Advances to State Finals; Volleyball and Girls’ Cross Country Vy for District, State Titles

The Greenhills boys’ soccer team beat Hamtramck Frontier 4-2 Wednesday to advance to the Division 4 state finals. The Gryphons will face Muskegon Western Michigan Christian in the state finals at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Pat Patterson Athletic Complex in Kentwood, Mich (See directions below). Sidewalk artist David Zinn ’86 on art: less mystery, more fun

…to consider ourselves mere “doodlers.” Part of his aim, when he draws on the street or sidewalk with commonly available materials, is to demystify and democratize both the creation and appreciation of art. Too many of us, he told students, binge on art in the museum, struggling to spend just the right amount of time in front of each piece, and racing from room to room in immense buildings as if we were expecting a test on the way out.
