Testing the test: Greenhills helps develop new Character Skills Assessment
This year, students and prospective students at Greenhills are continuing to lead the way in helping the Enrollment Management Association learn about its new method of assessing character traits like empathy, teamwork, and integrity.
The EMA approached Greenhills last year about beta testing a new Character Skills Assessment, a tool that will help admission officers understand more about the unique contributions applicants might make to their school communities. The assessment is designed to measure values and character in action, and each is part of what independent schools are looking for in potential students.
Greenhills is one of only 45 schools participating worldwide.
This year, we’ll offer the CSA to all middle school applicants, as well as to current Greenhills students in grades 6 through 11. Participation in this beta program is, of course, optional. Families with students eligible to take the test should look for an email with more information from our admission team sometime in the next week.
Since the CSA continues to be in a beta phase, its results (or choosing to opt out of participation) will have no effect on admission decisions.
