Fall teams head into post-season play
It’s a busy time for Greenhills athletes, with four fall teams in the playoffs as of Wednesday and two teams that already have won championships.
The boys soccer team meets in the district semifinals at Plymouth Christian on Wednesday, after a 3-1 victory Monday over Manchester. The field hockey team, after a big win Tuesday, will meet Father Gabriel Richard for a playoff game, at home, on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, two Gryphons teams — girls golf and boys tennis — are competing in the state finals this weekend. The golfers head for Forest Akers East for play on Friday and Saturday, while the tennis squad will gather in Novi for their state finals.
And finally, both varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams won west division champs in the Catholic High School League. Varsity went 7-0 and JV went 5-0 in league play.
