Alumni Conversations: Dr. Sarah-Elizabeth Byosiere ’10
Greenhills alum Dr. Sarah-Elizabeth Byosiere ’10 recently spoke to Head of School Peter B. Fayroian about her life after graduation and path to becoming the Director of the Thinking Dog Center at CUNY Hunter College. Dr. Byosiere credits the science classes she took while attending Greenhills — specifically mentioning those taught by Mr. Friedlander and Dr. Smith — for sparking her interest in working with animals and opening the door to the possibility of having a career focused on the study of animal behavior. Following her time at Greenhills, she went on to earn her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan and Ph.D. at La Trobe University in Australia. More recently, at the Thinking Dog Center, her work has expanded to include applied research topics, including dog training methodologies and sheltering practices.Â
