Senior David Rubin is Ann Arbor’s Soccer Player of the Year
Capping a strong soccer season that saw the team reach the state semifinals, Greenhills senior David Rubin has been named Boys Soccer Player of the Year by the Ann Arbor News.
The honor was announced in a news story that ran in the paper over the weekend. But it wasn’t news to those who know Rubin and his style of play—they unanimously say the award is well-deserved.
“He’s an accomplished player with great vision on the field, and he’s completely unselfish,” said Greenhills Athletic Director Meg Seng. “He’s exactly the kind of teammate everybody wants to have.”
Rubin’s efforts as a defensive midfielder helped the team give up a minimal number of goals this year, while his eye for the timely pass also helped generate a lot of offense, Seng added. He’s committed to play Division III soccer at Carleton College in Minnesota next year.
