7 Questions with an Alum: Dr. Blair Jenkins ’05

Dr. Blair Jenkins graduated from Greenhills School in 2005.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Yale.  While at Yale, she developed passions for science, medicine, and education.  She moved to New York City in 2009 to teach middle school science with Teach for America. She loved teaching but ultimately felt that educating patients and graduate students would be her true calling.  She returned to academia and earned both an MD and PhD from Columbia University.  She recently completed her studies there and has been working for the past 6 months as a first-year Internal Medicine resident at Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut.  She will begin training as a Dermatology resident at Columbia later this year.

Her long-term goal is to become a doctor, scientist, and educator in the greater New York area, with a particular focus on healing those with skin of color.  She is also invested in advancing the careers of underrepresented minorities in medicine.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking and taking long socially-distant walks with her husband Nick and dog Zoey.
