4 Questions with an Alum: Jackie Oestreich ’13
Having been a student-athlete at Greenhills since 6th grade, Jackie Oestreich graduated from Greenhills in 2013. During her time at Greenhills, she proved to be an outstanding athlete, playing volleyball and basketball and serving as the team captain. A natural leader, she shared her enthusiasm and drive with other players for the benefit of all. She was also a two-sport athlete in volleyball and basketball at Ohio Dominican University where she earned a B.A. in Business Administration, and a minor. in Spanish in 2017. After graduation, she decided to move back home to Michigan to coach volleyball at Concordia University as a graduate assistant. There she earned an M.B.A.with a concentration in strategic marketing. In 2019, when she completed her masters degree, the USA volleyball coaches asked her to tryout at the Olympic Center in Colorado. She then traveled on tour to Slovenia that same summer. In August 2019, only one week into the tour, she received a contract to play professional volleyball for Volejbal Prerov in the Czech Republic. As of December 2020, Jackie’s professional career continues in Spain (Canary Islands) where plays for CV Heidelberg. “Playing professionally and living abroad has always been my dream so I am excited to help others who feel the same.”
