Vorva ’13 Back from ‘Mini Peace Corps’ Experience in Cambodia
Madison Vorva ’13 spent three weeks in June learning about a very different way of life in Cambodia, including exploring the rainforest and getting to know people who live with very little.
“You see what those people don’t have, and what they do with nothing, and they don’t want, because they’re so happy with what they do have,” Vorva said. “And you come back and you don’t want now either. Going somewhere where that’s not the focus, it’s a great place to learn humility.”
Vorva was one of 29 students from across the country (and the only Michigander) who traveled to Cambodia with Globe Explorers, an organization sponsored by the U.S. State Department.
