Volleyballer Oestreich Signs with LSSU
At an all-school assembly this morning, senior Jackie Oestreich signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
Oestreich, who currently holds eight varsity letters (volleyball, basketball and soccer) captained the volleyball team this past fall, earned league MVP honors and was named to the All-State team. As a junior she was named to the All-League team. She also has competed outside of Greenhills in AAU Volleyball.
“Dedication to her sports training as well as to her studies has allowed Jackie to pursue her dream of playing at the next level,” said athletic director Meg Seng. “We congratulate Jackie and wish her well as a Laker.”
Oestreich is the second member of the Class of 2013 to sign letter of intent to play sports at the collegiate level. Classmate Henry Do recently committed to playing golf at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
Oestreich is the daughter of Steve and Carrie Oestreich. Steve teaches in the health and wellness department and serves as Greenhills’ athletic trainer.
