Video: Victors Day a ‘Win-Win-Win’
The first ever Greenhills Victors Day was held Friday, March 23. The full day of service for upper school students started in the morning reconnecting with their T-Wall/B-ball buddies on the U-M campus, meeting Michigan athletes from various teams (football, hockey, cheerleading, the band, etc.).
“It was a great opportunity for Greenhills students to continue the friendships started in the fall and meet inspirational athletes,” says service learning coordinator Alyssa Cooper.
In the afternoon, students participated in a variety of service events at organizations across Ann Arbor and Detroit, including Food Gatherers, Focus: Hope, Project GROW, Clare Bridge Senior Center, Botanical Gardens, United 2 Heal and Therapeutic Riding.
“Like reuniting with their T-Wall buddies in the morning, the afternoon of service was a terrific break from routine and an opportunity for the students to give of themselves to a variety of worthwhile organizations,” comments math teacher Josh Friendly. “Win. Win. Win. For students, school, and community.”
