Updated! ‘Lots to Celebrate’ with Fall Sports
There was a lot to cheer about this fall with all our sports teams:
- The boys’ tennis team aced their fifth straight state championship (their eighth in 11 years) by winning six out of eight flights and amassing 36 points. Individual state champions included senior co-captain Mithun Saha, No. 2 singles; Zach Tsai, No. 4 singles; senior co-captain Chang Cheand Zach Martell, No. 1 doubles; Adhi Rajaprabhakaran and Nick Sandhu, No. 2 doubles; Connor Kaczynski and Matteo Todisco, No. 3 doubles, and Neil Sykes and Gage Feldeisen, No. 4 doubles.
- Our girls’ golf team finished sixth at the state tournament, enduring ugly weather conditions on both days. Annie Aldrich ’13 led the way, finishing in the top 15.
- The boys’ soccer team won their district championship.
- Boys’ cross country won their MIAC championship meet; Coach Jill Johnson was voted Coach of the Year by her peers. The girls’ team finished eighth at the championship.
- The volleyball team clinched the MIAC Blue Division Championship last Thursday with an undefeated conference season. Our girls’ field hockey team put up a great fight in their second post-season contest, but were extremely short-handed with only one sub. They lost 1-0 to an upper-division Marian team.
- The equestrian team finished in third place at their district.
“There has been a lot to celebrate with all our fall sports teams,” says athletic director Meg Seng.
