Seniors’ golf fundraiser succeeds, despite weather
The best efforts of Michigan’s weather gremlins failed to deter participants in, this weekend’s Senior Class Golf Outing, which drew a full slate of golfers and raised more than $8,300 for the senior class gift.
Many of the 57 participants actually managed an enjoyable afternoon of golf at the Washtenaw Country Club, despite chilly temperatures and a full range of precipitation that included, at various times, snow, rain, sleet, and even a little hail.
The event, organized by seniors Andy Barber, Connor Todd, and James Sotiroff, supports the senior class gift, which this year will be an outdoor staircase linking the junior and senior forums.
The winning team comprised Head of School Carl Pelofsky and parents Kathy and Paul Marx and Angela and Alan Harris. Afterwards a pizza dinner and fundraising raffle — including Michigan football tickets and suite tickets for a Detroit Pistons game — rounded out the day.
