Nadine Hall Visits Ireland, Meets U.S. Ambassador

This past summer diversity director and middle school history teacher Nadine Hall spoke at the 10th International Conference on Diversity that was held at Queen’s University in Belfast, Ireland.  She gave a presentation on SAFE, Greenhills’ anti-bullying program that was implemented in the middle school last year.

“It was a real honor to have been invited,” says Hall.

One of the highlights of her trip, she relays, was traveling to Dublin and meeting U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Daniel Rooney and his wife Patricia (pictured here with Hall and her mother, Dr. Brenda Flanagan, a former Greenhills teacher).

The Rooneys have invited Hall back in February to talk about Frederick Douglass in honor of Black History Month.

“Not many people know that Frederick Douglass once visited Ireland,” says Hall.  “I’m looking forward to sharing more about him in both a formal presentation at the embassy as well as at events in local schools.”
