Lots to love about ‘Kiss Me Kate,’ running March 22-24
This spring’s musical, Kiss Me Kate, features not only the music of the iconic music legend Cole Porter, but also the choreography of our own beloved theater legend Jim Posante, who was Greenhills’ theater director from 1976 until his untimely death in 2008.
“About 10 years ago I worked with Jim on ‘Kiss Me Kate’ at Concordia,” says director Laura Bird, “so, as a tribute to Jim, we are recreating his choreography for this show.”
Kiss Me Kate is based upon Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, but with a twist: The actors are based at a theater in Baltimore and are putting on a show, thus making the musical a show-within-a-show.
Performances are Friday, March 22 & Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 pm. Matinee is on Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased online or at the school’s box office on Thursday March 21 from 3-5 p.m., and one hour before each show.
