Kickoff Breakfast generosity sparks strongest-ever start for Annual Fund
Tuesday morning’s Annual Fund Kickoff Breakfast drew more than 100 community members to the Campbell Center, where their generosity got this year’s Annual Fund for Greenhills off to its strongest start ever.
The gathering began at 7:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries and featured performances by Greenhills singers and musicians, as well as brief talks from Student Council President Anjali Purohit ’16 and middle schooler Ian Dopp ’20.
Christopher Lee ’08, one of the Annual Fund’s alumni co-chairs this year, also spoke to guests, sharing how his Greenhills education prepared him for an academic career that began at the University of Connecticut and hasn’t stopped yet. Lee is currently a PhD student in a joint Harvard/Massachusetts Institute of Technology health sciences and technology program, working on developing new ways to deliver medicines to people suffering urological disease. He’s also an entrepreneur who was recognized as a 2015 Forbes 30 Under 30 nominee in health care, and also as an Inc.com top 50 entrepreneur under the age of 25. He also co-directs MIT Hacking Medicine, which seeks to energize healthcare through startups.
Audience members also were the first to see a new Greenhills video, which further explains the culture of support and success that sets our school apart.
Before the event broke up at 9 a.m. donors had raised more than $120,000, our best Annual Fund start ever. Each dollar joins with tuition to ensure that a Greenhills education remains the strongest foundation for a successful future.
We thank you.
