Harry Potter Club Visits (Virtually) with J.K. Rowling
It was a magical day yesterday for 30 students in the Greenhills Harry Potter Book Club. The Hogwarts devotees listened in on a live webcast with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who, among other topics, talked about her writing process and also unveiled new components of her online extension site of the books, Pottermore. The virtual author visit was streamed live to 10,000 Harry Potter clubs and classrooms around the world.
“Our Harry Potter Club is a lively and popular club of readers, so this author visit is a dream come true,” says club advisor Bridget Maher. “Many of the students identify as writers themselves, so hearing about the process in writing the books they love so much was enlightening. The students are also thrilled to read biographies of characters from the novels, and stories left out of the original tales.”
