Emily Wu Wins State Medical Research Essay Contest
Emily Wu ’13 was selected as the first place entry in the 2012 Michigan Society for Medical Research Essay Contest. Her essay, entitled “It Was All Started by a Mouse,” has earned her a $500 cash prize and a plaque, as well as a $100 cash prize and a plaque for her teacher, Julie Smith.
“This is a wonderful honor for Emily and Greenhills,” says Smith. “We are proud of her efforts and very happy she is getting the recognition she deserves.”
Wu will receive her award and recognition in person at the Michigan Society for Medical Research’s annual meeting on May 16.
