Chocolate Lounge Raises Record Amount for Heitman Endowment
The numbers are in: Friday’s Chocolate Lounge Improv and Jazz band show, which drew an SRO crowd, raised a record$3,277 for the Krystal Heitman Memorial Endowment. The entire evening was, by all accounts, a delicious success.
“It was absolutely incredible,” gushes Anna Schwartz ’13, who, along with her classmates, organized the event. “It was so great getting everyone together for such a amazing, fun time.”
Established in 2006, the Krystal Heitman Memorial Endowment (named for a beloved member of Greenhills staff, Krystal Heitman (mother of Derek ’13 and Ashley ’09), who passed away in 2006 after a long battle with cancer) supports the cost of student events and activities so that no Greenhills student is ever left out.
“Working on the Chocolate Lounge was very rewarding because not only did we plan a terrific event filled with music, improv, and great treats for the entire Greenhills community, but we also raised donations for an extremely important fund,” says Lazarsfeld. “The Heitman Memorial Fund is a great help to those students and families who have financial worries attached with field trips and other special events. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to help sustain a fund that is both personal and beneficial to our whole school.”
