‘A Night for Greenhills’ wins high praise
On Saturday, March 9 the inaugural A Night for Greenhills fundraising event (formerly the Greenhills Auction for Excellence) featured a new venue (Polo Fields Golf & Country Club), live and silent auction items offered via text-to-bid technology, and casino-style games like blackjack and bingo.
The changes were a gamble that paid off.
“The feedback we received that night and since has been extremely positive,” says A Night for Greenhills coordinator Mindy Krasner. “We wanted to change things up a bit this year, and people really seemed to embrace the new format.”
Highlights of the evening included a car raffle for a 2013 Ford Escape (won by Greenhills assistant admission director Eric Gajar) and the Nancy’s Basket Award, which was presented to GPO upper school lead representative Robyn Khouri for her outstanding volunteer efforts. The evening’s highest-selling item was a visit to the set of the Fox comedy New Girl, an item donated by Greenhills alumna Liz Meriwether ’00, who is the creator, writer and executive producer of the hit show.
The event was organized by A Night for Greenhills chairs Shawn Bonine, Elizabeth DeRose, Cecilia Ponce de Leon, Terry Morrison, and Shireen Syed.
