2011 Commencement Rocket Launch Follow-up

2011 Commencement Rocket Launch Follow-upAt Sunday’s commencement ceremony, science teacher Michael Wilson attempted a Greenhills graduation first:  the launching of a rocket with a digital video camera attached to capture the traditional post-ceremony hat toss from overhead. Wilson reports:

“Unfortunately, the camera had a 15-second delay, which I failed to account for Sunday during all the commotion. Therefore, the camera only caught the landing portion. Adding insult to injury, the small clip that managed to record didn’t save. All we have are our memories! Maybe the message here is that from this point forward it is up to each graduate to record his or her own journey. lol (How’s that for spin?!) Congratulations again to the Class of 2011!”

Wilson, who was chosen by the Class of 2011 to be this year’s commencement speaker, has conducted a rocket building/launching project as part of his 6th grade science curriculum for the past 10 years.
