GH Faculty ‘Impressive’ at ISACS Conference

On November 3-4, the entire Greenhills faculty attended the Independent Schools of the Central States (ISACS) Annual Conference held at Detroit’s Cobo Hall.  At the conference eleven Greenhills faculty members — the most of any other ISACS school — presented their teaching practices and pedagogies in conjunction with the conference’s theme Innovation: Thinking Outside of the Box.

Greenhills teacher presentations included:

Writing Across the Curriculum (A. Novak, B. Maher, B. Ebeling)

Integrated Public Speaking (B. Ebeling, A. Ward)

The Commonplace Book Tradition as Innovative Writing Across the Curriculum (C. Erickson, K. Williams)

Education for Sustainable Development (C. Gleason, N. Hall)

Spanish, Storybooks & Service: Integrating Service Learning Into the Classroom (E. Moffat)

What it Takes to Think Big: A Course in Big History (T. Shreiner)

“The name Greenhills is out there reaching the broader independent school community,” commented head of middle school Jamey Hein.  “Educators who attended the sessions led by our teachers commented on the impressive quality and practicality of their presentations.”
