Advanced Research students share their knowledge
More than 100 people showed up for Advanced Research Night to hear Greenhills students share their experiences at research facilities working on everything from automotive comfort to more effective treatments for cancer.Â
The annual showcase highlights the high level of sophistication of research conducted by Greenhills students, according to science teacher and 12th-grade co-team leader Julie Smith. Topics were as disparate as figuring out depression rates among medical interns, 3-D printing of pneumatic valves, and examining Big History essay scores.
Featured speakers included Anirudh Hirve on “E=Cigarettes and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm,” Julia Friedman on “Correlates of the Aspiration-Expectation Gap in African American Adolescents,” Kelly Torolski on “Protein Disulfide Isomerase Inhibitors for Treatments of Gliomas,” and Julian Wellman on “Icarus’ Davenport-Schinzel Sequences.”
