Greenhills family heads south for winter break—to Antarctica
Greenhills math teacher Barbara Rocci has a keen eye for adventure. So, after a trip to Spitsbergen in northern Norway proved rewarding, it seemed only natural to try her luck in the far south.
Rocci, her husband Andrew Adams, and their son Sebastian—a Greenhills 6th-grader–headed to Antarctica over winter break. It’s summer there, of course, so they found temperatures of 4o degrees or so on the continent—a far cry from current temperatures in Michigan—along with a plentiful supply of penguins, seals, and icebergs.
There was even an opportunity for beach time and camping. Click here to check out some of her photos in a Flickr album.
